About the Position:
We are seeking a Journalism Intern to join our team and gain valuable hands-on experience in the field of journalism. As an intern, you will work closely with our editorial team and contribute to the creation and distribution of high-quality content. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills in writing, research, interviewing, and multimedia production. Key responsibilities include:
Assist in the research, writing, and editing of news stories, features, and other editorial content.
Conduct interviews with sources and gather information to support stories.
Collaborate with editors to develop story ideas and angles.
Help manage social media accounts and promote content online.
Assist in the production of multimedia content such as photos, videos, and podcasts.
Attend and cover events as needed.
Fact-check and proofread content for accuracy and clarity.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
Strong writing, research, and communication skills
Familiarity with AP Style and journalistic principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Knowledge of multimedia production tools such as Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
This is a paid internship position during the summer. Candidates must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week and be willing to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
