Homemade Aioli Sauce Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 egg yolks or 1/4 cup of mayonnaise

  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 cup olive oil

  1. In a small bowl ideally, whisk together the egg yolks, garlic, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  2. Slowly drizzle in the olive oil, whisking constantly, until the mixture thickens and emulsifies into a smooth, creamy texture. This can take several minutes, so be patient and keep whisking.

  3. Once the aioli has reached the desired consistency, taste and adjust the seasoning as needed with more salt, pepper, or lemon juice.

  4. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
